Egypt’s Awqaf ministry will organize the Quranic event today, February 6, Al-Ahram reported.
A number of young female qaris will recite verses from the Holy Quran at the program, the ministry said in a statement.
It added that the Quranic event is aimed at encouraging young women and girls who memorize the Holy Book and learn Quran recitation and promoting reflection on the verses of the Quran.
Mohamed Mukhtar Gomaa, Egypt’s Awqaf minister, said such programs are part of efforts to develop Quranic activities in mosques.
Expanding Quranic activities for women has been on the agenda of the ministry in recent years.
Egypt is a country in North Africa with a population of around 100 million.
